Keyfix: Focusing On The Future Of The Construction Industry

As a company focused on investing in people and ensuring a greater future for the industry through comprehensive training, Keyfix is proud to be a key sponsor of Cara Group’s Future Skills Apprenticeship Programme.  

The training initiative will give apprentices real opportunities to further their knowledge and skill base through on-the-job training and access to the very latest and most innovative products.  

With around 244,000 qualified apprentices likely to be required to fill the skill gap by 2032, it’s absolutely vital that new recruits and those starting out in the industry are nurtured, supported, and encouraged to develop their careers.  

How Keyfix will support the Future Skills Apprenticeship Programme 

Apprenticeship programmes such as this one are therefore more crucial than ever before – which is why Keyfix, and the wider Keystone Group, are thrilled to support Cara Group’s Future Skills Apprenticeship Programme.  

Future Skills apprentices will receive a combination of both practical training and mentorship. Keyfix will invite all participants of the training programme to tour its factory, enabling all apprentices to meet designers, manufacturers, and sales teams to see and understand the products they’ll be using throughout their careers in the industry. Additionally, the apprentices will have the opportunity to work with these new and innovative products and offer feedback while gaining crucial experience and expertise. 

Furthermore, Keyfix will also be working with a number of colleges where the apprentices are based, presenting CPDs and product demonstrations for each class. These connections to the colleges mean Keyfix can provide training opportunities to both Future Skills participants and their classmates, allowing them to expand the level of training even further.  

To promote a sense of camaraderie, Keyfix and Cara Group have also provided dual-branded jackets, polo-shirts, tools, and tool bags.   

John Duffin, Managing Director at Keyfix, highlighted the importance of offering regular support and encouragement to those starting out in the industry. He said: “It’s vital we all play our part in supporting the next generation. Everyone can think back to that one person who made a difference and gave them the start or took a leap of faith with them when they needed it.  

“Doing something positive always makes a lasting impression and hopefully encourages the next generation on their journey. It’s been an absolute honour to develop this apprenticeship programme and work alongside Cara Group in supporting the Future Skills Apprentice Programme.” 

Neil Allen, Managing Director at Cara Group, was delighted to have partnered with Keyfix and the Keystone Group on such an important initiative. With Keyfix and Keystone Group, we’ve found the ideal partner to enhance the learning and development of our apprentices, providing them with the insights and hands-on opportunities they need to succeed.”

With construction demand set to increase and the industry currently facing a skills shortage, ensuring a brighter future through ongoing training and development is paramount.
