White Paper | Exploring the Cultural Shift Driven by the Building Safety Act
Posted on 12 Nov 2025
Keyfix is proud to highlight the release of a powerful new White Paper by our sister company, IG Masonry Support, titled “From Legacy to Liability: How the Building Safety Act is Creating a Cultural Shift in Construction.”
The publication brings together leading voices from across the construction industry to explore how the Building Safety Act (BSA) is reshaping standards, accountability, and culture throughout the built environment.
Born from the lessons of the Grenfell Tower tragedy and the recommendations of the Hackitt Report, the Building Safety Act represents one of the most significant transformations in UK construction for decades. The White Paper examines how organisations are adapting to this new regulatory landscape, from evolving competence frameworks and digital recordkeeping to the growing emphasis on collaboration, transparency, and safety.
Central to the publication are insights from an exclusive roundtable hosted by IG Masonry Support as part of its ‘Sleep Like a Baby’ campaign, which champions compliance and certification in construction. The event brought together experts from across the sector – including representatives from CABE, BSI, McAleer & Rushe, Lee Marley Group, Aros Architects, Hoare Lea, and Broadway Malyan – to discuss how the Building Safety Act is influencing real-world practice.
Commenting on the discussion, John Duffin, Managing Director of Keyfix, said:
“Being part of this conversation was invaluable. The Building Safety Act is more than a regulatory shift – it’s changing how we think about responsibility and performance across the entire supply chain. Collaboration between designers, manufacturers, and contractors is essential to meet the new expectations of competence and accountability.”
Andy Neal, Managing Director of IG Masonry Support, added:
“The Building Safety Act is driving a fundamental change in how we approach design and construction. It’s forcing the industry to move from a fragmented, product-by-product mindset to one built on competence, accountability, and safety. This White Paper captures that moment of transition, the challenges, and the progress being made.”
While acknowledging that implementation of the Act has presented challenges, the publication concludes that it is driving lasting positive change, embedding safety, integrity, and competence at the heart of construction practice.
