Wall Ties
Wall ties are engineered to provide lateral restraint to masonry panels, ensuring stability and preventing failure or collapse. Manufactured from austenitic stainless steel, they are fully non-combustible and conform to the requirements of Approved Document B and BS EN 845-1.
Masonry – Masonry – KT1 / KT2 / KT4
These cavity wall ties are designed to connect two leaves of masonry, maintaining structural integrity across the cavity.
KT1
Type 1 tie suitable for high-rise and commercial buildings where enhanced performance is required.
KT2 & KT4
Type 2 and Type 4 ties intended for low-rise structures and domestic dwellings. Performance classification aligns with PD 6697.
Masonry – In-Situ – 25/14 Channel System
The 25/14 channel restraint system is installed through the insulation, enabling use in high-rise construction without compromising thermal performance.
It provides tested load capacities corresponding to Types 1–4 and is suitable for fixing back to SFS, in-situ concrete, or engineered timber substrates.
Masonry – In-Situ – EDH / EDL / KTFT EDH / EDL Frame Cramp Ties
Designed to tie the external masonry leaf back to internal SFS or reinforced concrete structures, ensuring adequate restraint in accordance with BS EN 845-1.
KTFT Timber Frame Tie
Developed specifically for domestic dwellings, tying the external masonry leaf to structural timber frames while accommodating vertical settlement of the timber structure.
Movement Ties – PPE / PPH / PPL
Movement ties are utilised at vertical movement joints in conjunction with debonding sleeves. They allow for differential expansion and contraction of masonry, thereby mitigating the risk of cracking.
PPE
For masonry-to-masonry connections.
PPH / PPL
For tying masonry to SFS or concrete substrates, providing flexibility across varying construction types.
Head Restraints – IHR / EHR
Head restraint systems secure the head of non-loadbearing masonry walls to the underside of in-situ or precast concrete slabs. The design accommodates vertical deflection of the primary structure, reducing stress transfer and the likelihood of cracking in the masonry panel.
Retaining Discs – NCRD / KIRD
NCRD and KIRD insulation retaining discs are designed for use with the full Keyfix wall tie range and are also compatible with competitor Type 1 wall ties. They ensure insulation boards remain securely fixed within the cavity, maintaining thermal continuity and compliance with current building regulations.
At Keyfix, our commitment goes beyond products – we deliver complete, compliant, and engineered solutions that support modern construction. The introduction of our wall ties and fixings range reinforces our position as a trusted partner to architects, engineers, and contractors seeking reliable, fully tested solutions for non-combustible building design.
