Keyfix becomes Fully Carbon Neutral
Posted on 21 Mar 2023
Keyfix is delighted to announce that it is now a fully carbon neutral business, achieved through offsetting its carbon emissions.
Keyfix has proven its commitment to environmental improvement via the attainment of its Carbon Footprint accreditation, received on 17th January 2023 through verified carbon reduction projects and planting trees in Northern Ireland, helping to combat climate change and sustain our environment for future generations. As part of its efforts to minimise its carbon impacts, Keyfix has committed to participating in the UK planting scheme which reduced deforestation in Kenya, and donates trees to a school in Northern Ireland. By planting broad-leaved trees, Keyfix not only offset carbon emissions but helped to improve local ecosystems by providing wildlife habitat.
Keyfix is committed to the continuous development of its Environmental Management System, working in partnership with its specifiers, customers and suppliers. Keyfix’s achievement aligns with the wider Keystone Group’s aspiration of becoming an increasingly environmentally responsible and sustainable organisation, through the reduction of carbon emissions. Keystone is dedicated to sustainable operations and environmental protection and was the first lintel manufacturer to be awarded the ISO 14001 certification, proving its ongoing conscious engagement with environmental policies. As a group committed to reducing the environmental impact of all operations, other companies within Keystone Group are now taking the necessary steps to achieve a carbon neutral status.
Commenting on the certificate, John Duffin, Managing Director of Keyfix stated: “We are delighted that our investment in sustainability has produced the desired result of carbon neutrality, and we will continue to further reduce our carbon footprint. This is reflective of our team’s passion for creating more sustainable business operations and offerings for the market.”
Going forward, Keyfix will continue to address all areas for improvement with a sustainably-focussed supply chain, helping to source its responsible future and pledges to continue to reduce its carbon footprint and reduce deforestation in Kenya. Keyfix has also attained its Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for its product portfolio, providing transparent and comparable information about the life-cycle environmental impact of its products. Doing so will empower the business and its people to make changes that are needed to support sustainable practices.
